Newcastle Fight Back From 2-goal Deficit To Snatch Draw Against Bournemouth

Newcastle United staged a spirited second-half comeback to rescue a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in a thrilling Premier League encounter.

Bournemouth made a fast start at St James’ Park and stunned the home supporters by taking a two-goal lead before half-time.

Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring in the ninth minute, finishing off a promising move to give the visitors an early advantage.

Newcastle struggled to respond and their problems deepened in the 35th minute when centre-back Malick Thiaw turned the ball into his own net, handing Bournemouth a 2-0 lead.

The hosts managed to reduce the deficit just two minutes later when Harvey Barnes found the net in the 37th minute, giving Newcastle a lifeline heading into the interval.

Bournemouth led 2-1 at half-time despite Newcastle enjoying periods of pressure.

The Magpies stepped up their efforts after the restart, with their attacking pressure eventually paying off in the closing stages.

Jacob Ramsey restored parity in the 88th minute, sending the home crowd into celebration as Newcastle completed their comeback.
