A non-governmental organisation (NGO) Lifesquare Leadership Initiative (LLI) has called for adaptive leadership to address the security challenges facing the country.
The group described the leadership model as a “beacon of hope, enabling us to navigate the stormy waters with a sense of direction, courage, and optimism.”
In her address in Abuja at its summit with the theme: “The Role of Adaptive Leadership in Mitigating the Impacts of Insecurity”, the managing director of LLI, Dr Susan Ake, who doubles as country director of Unipgc Nigeria, stressed the significance of adaptive leadership in mitigating the impacts of insecurity.
“We find ourselves in an era where insecurity, in its various forms, poses significant challenges to our societal fabric, it threatens our peace, our prosperity, and our shared vision of a brighter future,” Ake said.
She said adaptive leadership is a unique approach, one that promotes flexibility, responsiveness, and resilience in the face of adversity.
Ake said it encourages leaders to listen, learn, and leverage their resources to create effective solutions.
“In the context of insecurity, adaptive leadership becomes a beacon of hope, enabling us to navigate the stormy waters with a sense of direction, courage, and optimism,” she said.
Ake furthermore said they will delve deeper into what adaptive leadership entails, how it can be fostered, and how it can help them mitigate the impacts of insecurity.
Ake urged each one of them to approach the discussions with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to action.
