As part of its commitment to humanitarian service, the Grassroots Initiative for Good Governance and Development (GIGG&D) has provided essential supplies and support to patients at Kafanchan Hospitals in Kaduna State.
The outreach, held during the Easter period, covered Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital and the Child Welfare Primary Health Care Centre, targeting vulnerable groups including children, nursing mothers, and emergency patients.
Donated items ranged from hygiene products to financial assistance, aimed at improving patient comfort and supporting healthcare workers in service delivery.
According to the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Shul-Nom Yohanna Bako, the initiative underscores the organisation’s dedication to standing with communities during challenging times.
Beneficiaries and hospital staff, such as Nurse Grace Dangas, praised the effort, describing it as timely and impactful.
The organisation’s convener, Mr Mathias Avong, called on well-meaning individuals and institutions to sustain such humanitarian gestures year-round.
GIGG&D continues to position itself as a key player in community support initiatives, driven by its theme of empowering communities and enhancing good governance.
