A former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Babangida Nguroje, has expressed sadness over the death of leader of the Tijjaniyya Order, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing him as a devoted spiritual leader par excellence.
Nguroje, in a statement issued in Abuja at the weekend said the death of the Islamic scholar marked the end of an era, and extolled his virtues, describing him as one who contributed immensely to the growth of Islam within the African Sahel and globally.
He added that the late Sheikh lived an exemplary life and his death signified the closure of a significant chapter.
He pointed out that Sheikh Usman Bauchi made profound contributions to the development of Islam, asserting that history would be kind to him.
