Niger State Contributory Health Agency-NiCare, in partnership with GAVI-UNICEF, has launched community dialogue sessions to increase health insurance awareness and improve healthcare accessibility in local government areas in the state.
NiCare’s UNICEF focal person, Habibah Umar, said the community dialogues provide valuable information about available health insurance scheme options and the benefits of enrolling in NiCare’s plans.
Umar said the dialogue sessions helps in understanding community needs and ensures tailoring of services to meet their demands.
“We also discuss preventive health practices, the importance of regular check-ups and vaccinations,” she said.
She added that the sessions were held in Lavun, Wushishi and Chanchaga local government areas and encouraged mass participation.
All the UNICEF local government facilitators emphasised the importance of understanding community health needs for effective health insurance packages, adding that the dialogue empowers residents with knowledge and strengthens NiCare’s commitment to improve healthcare access.
