Niger Assembly Screens Commissioner Nominees

Niger State House of Assembly has commenced the screening of commissioner nominees forwarded to the legislature by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

At the second day of the screening of the 30 Nominees divided into three sessions, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, told the house of the correspondence received from the Governor and thereafter screened the nominees.

LEADERSHIP report that so far 20 nominees have been screened with ten others left, and all the Nominees confirmed except the nominee from Agwara constituency Ahmed Agwara whose screening was earlier stepped down for allegedly suing the house to court some months back

The speaker who congratulated the confirmed nominees, urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by contributing diligently and effectively to the transformation agenda of Niger State.

Those screened and confirmed on were Hon. Mu’azu Hamidu Jantabo Lapai, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed Bida, Kabiru Abbas Mariga, Nasiru Muazu Chanchaga, Lawal Mohammed Kontagora, Abubakar Musa Paikoro, Barr. Maurice Magaji Munya, Bashir Mohammed Lokogoma Wushishi and Dr. Murtala Bagana – Bida.

Also screened yesterday and confirmed Were Mohammed Qasim – Agaie, Hadiza Idris Kuta – Shiroro, Phalalu Bako – Kontagora, Abdullahi Adamu Mammagi – Gbako, Abdullahi Ibrahim Inga – Rafi, Isah Sidi Rijau – Rijau, Jacob Baba Yisa – Edati, Ladidi Bawa Bosso – Bosso, Abdulrazaq Mu’azu (Jakada) – Borgu and Suleman Umar – Bida.
