Niger Gov Submits N213.7bn Supplementary Budget For Minimum Wage

Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has sent  a supplementary budget  of N213.7 billion to the state House of Assembly.

In a correspondence read by the speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Muhammad Sarkin Daji at plenary, the governor said the preparation of the proposed supplementary budget became necessary in view of additional and expected inflow of funds.

He said an inflow of   N213.7bn was expected whereas the implementation of the N70,000 new minimum wage as well the impact of fuel subsidy removal on the general economic activities necessitated supplementary fiscal action.

The total proposed 2024  supplementary budget forwarded to the House by the governor for consideration is made up of

N 36 859,819,029.12 recurrent expenditure and the capital expenditure  N 176, 877, 651,108.88.
