Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has flagged off the All Progressives Congress (APC)  e-Registration and donated N160 million, 300 motorcycles and 300 tablets as logistical support to ensure a smooth exercise in the state.

Bago who kicked  off the exercise at the Council Chamber of Government House, Minna, in the presence of party stalwarts at the national and state levels, also validated his membership of the APC.

He  described the exercise as a welcome development that is easy and flexible, pointing out that it will promote transparency and also ensure that the ruling party remains the best in the country.

After announcing his donation, the governor appreciated the senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Mohammed Sani Musa, for donating N24.9 million to support the exercise in his zone and enjoined other stakeholders to ensure a hitch-free exercise.

He called on all APC members to go back to their various wards to validate their registration and that the door is open for new members to register.

The national vice chairman, North-Central Zone of the APC, Alh. Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, said the e-registration is a reflection of the reforms taking place in the ruling party and that it will accommodate new members, strengthen the existing party structure, and improve its data-base.

The Niger State coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Alh. Nma Kolo, applauded the exercise, saying it’s a good innovation.

He expressed optimism that the exercise will achieve the desired objectives, as the party has already set up a machinery in motion that would fast-track the generation of National Identity Number (NIN) for members which is one of the requirements for the  APC e-registration.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the exercise would  commence next week  across the  274 wards of the state before the portal closes on the 30th of January, 2026.
