Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has received a delegation of businessmen from Russia in Minna, the state capital.
The delegation, made up of representatives from Sber Bank of Russia, the Russian Trade Commission, strategic partners and equipment manufacturers, and Rostselmash, was led by Mr. Peter, the commercial attaché, Russian Trade Commission.
The delegation was on a fact-finding mission to Niger as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the government and Sber Bank on agriculture and mining.
Governor Umaru Bago described their visit as a show of commitment to agreement, noting that his trip to Russia is beginning to yield positive results.
He expressed his excitement, maintaining that the Russian delegation visit is the beginning of a good future for the state.
The chairman of Niger Foods, Sammy Adigun, said the delegation has gone round some farms in the state and seen the abundant land and water resources.
The leader of the delegation, Mr Peter Arseniev, who is also the commercial attaché of the Russian Trade Commission, and other members, who took turns to speak on their experience in the state, described it as exciting, interesting, and fruitful.
