Niger Local Gov’t Chairman Dies In Auto Crash

The chairman of Katcha local government area of Niger State, Danlami Abdullahi Saku, has died in fatal auto crash along Minna-Suleja Road in the State.

Saku died in the accident that occurred about 7pm on Tuesday at Kwakwuti area of the road on his way to Abuja.

Confirming the incident in a statement late Tuesday night, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Niger State governor, Bologi Ibrahim, said his principal, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, received the news with rude shock, describing the Saku’s death as heartbreaking.

He said the demise of Saku is a sharp reminder that all creatures are from Allah and unto Him they will return at the appointed time.

The governor, therefore, commiserated with the family of the deceased, the people of Katcha local government area, and the entire State over the loss.
