Following the announcement of N110 million palliatives for the organised labour in Niger State, the body has unanimously resolved that the money should be used to augmentat a flat rate N50,000 palliative each to civil servants in the state.

The chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State, Comrade Abdulkarim Idris Lafene who stated this at a news conference yesterday said that instead of giving it to the organized labour money, the amount should be credited to the salary accounts of civil servants and retirees in both the state and local government councils sustainably for six months.

He noted that it was not logical that civil servants who are to be at the first line of those to be considered for palliatives were not considered and therefore  directed workers in Niger State to boycott any the committee set up for the distribution of palliatives schedule to commence on tomorrow across the state

Lafene said it will be more logical if  the payment of N50,000 on a flat rate basis as palliatives to all working class and retirees in the state and local government councils was paid, with the suspension of PAYEE deduction  and  implementation of outstanding promotions and annual increment for eligible workers was effected
