Niger State government has taken delivery of more mechanised agricultural equipment from an American firm even as the government plans to invest $2 billion on poultry in Bosso local government area of the state.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago disclosed this while on tour of Bosso local government area where he inspected the equipment at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport .
He expressed delight with the quality of equipment and said he was confident that his agricultural policy and feed the nation agenda would continue to promote the national policy on food security.
The equipment inspected include combined harvesters, planters, fertilizer sprayers, boom sprayers, harrows, ploughs and rodgers.
Bago said the state government would build a $2 billion poultry in the local government area.
He said during his engagement with the stakeholders that the poultry was in line with the livestock development initiative of the federal government, with Niger as a pilot state.
The governor who enumerated the road projects ongoing in Bosso local area, enjoined the people to continue to rally round the present administration to ensure success.
