The African Continental Chapter of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC Africa), in collaboration with JodelaTv and EduCore Impact Organisation, is set to launch the 2026 Social Media & Content Creator Capacity Building Masterclass, an intensive in-person workshop designed to strengthen the skills, professionalism and income potential of digital content creators in Nigeria.

The organisers said the programme is part of activities lined up for the Nigeria @ 66 Peace and Governance Conference/Awards, a high-level dialogue focused on strengthening democratic governance, promoting investment and advancing peace-building systems in Nigeria as part of the country’s Independence celebrations.

The conference is themed “From Conflict to Consolidation: Strengthening Democracy & Traditional Institutions through Solidarity.”

In a statement issued to journalists in Abuja, the global president and chairman of the UNIPGC Supreme Council, Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah, said Nigeria’s creative industry was rich in talent but required stronger professional capacity to compete effectively in the global digital marketplace.

“The Nigerian creative industry is overflowing with talent, but talent alone is no longer enough to compete globally,” Ojadah said.

He said the masterclass was designed to bridge the gap between creativity and the technical, strategic and professional competencies required to build sustainable digital enterprises.

“This masterclass bridges the gap between raw creativity and structural competence. We are equipping creators with the technical optimisation and narrative power required to build sustainable, influential digital enterprises right here from Nigeria,” he added.

The masterclass will be held in Lagos during the Nigeria @ 66 Peace and Governance Conference/Awards.

Organisers have announced that applications are officially open for the 2026 Content Creators and Social Media Capacity Building Masterclass.

Participation will be limited to ensure an effective mentor-to-student ratio and meaningful engagement during the training.

Applicants must: “Be an active content creator, digital journalist, blogger, podcaster or video editor based in Nigeria.

“Have an existing and verifiable online platform or portfolio with at least six months of active content.

“Be available to participate in the full in-person masterclass sessions.”

Interested applicants are required to submit an online application detailing their current work and motivation for attending the programme.

The application deadline is 30 August 2026.

Full programme details and application information are available through the UNIPGC Africa events page.

The organisers said the limited spaces would enable participants to receive closer mentorship and maximise the impact of the training.

The initiative is expected to contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s digital creative ecosystem by helping content creators develop professional competencies, strengthen their digital presence and explore sustainable opportunities in the global creator economy.
