Governor of Niger State Mohammed Umaru Bago has said that though Nigeria’s challenges may be enormous, they are not insurmountable.

While calling on Nigerians to deepen their prayers for the peace and prosperity of the nation, he expressed optimism that “there will be light at the end of the tunnel.”

The governor, who spoke on the 64th independent Anniversary of Nigeria through a message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, said, ” The nation is indeed going through a difficult time at the moment.”

“The challenges may be enormous; they are surmountable, and there will be light at the end of the tunnel by God’s grace, ” Governor Bago added.

He acknowledged the prevailing harsh economy, orchestrated by several factors. He encouraged the people to strengthen their faith in God, claiming that the government at all levels are making frantic efforts to ameliorate their sufferings and stabilise the economy.

He also enjoined ” Nigerians not to focus on the negatives alone, but to reflect on God’s mercies and be thankful to Him for keeping the nation as one entity despite the challenges”.

The governor appealed to the people that a united Nigeria is better and more beneficial for all and, therefore, called for unity.
