President Bola Tinubu yesterday assured that Nigeria would overcome the twin challenges of banditry and terrorism among the plethora of insecurity crisis currently bedeviling the country.

The president declared that his administration remained focused and determined to steady the country on the path of greatness, stressing that the resources and infrastructure were available to make it happen.

Tinubu spoke yesterday at the commissioning of the Gateway International Agro-cargo Airport and other landmark projects in Ilishan-Remo in the Ikenne local government area of Ogun State.

The president who commended the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the judicious use of federal allocations cited the Gateway International Airport built by the Abiodun-led administration as an example of efforts to develop Nigeria.

He disclosed that efforts were ongoing to develop Nigerian youths by investing more in them towards becoming highly useful for the nation’s security needs.

“Our investments are centered on our people. The infrastructure we see today reflects our confidence in the future of our country. We believe that today’s foundation will secure tomorrow’s prosperity.

“I assure you that we will continue to make progress. Nigeria is determined to be great and we are firmly on the path to achieving that greatness once again,’’ he said.

Tinubu disclosed that he was particularly pleased with the Ogun State governor’s focus on mobility, security and agriculture, stressing that he deserved to be celebrated.

“Today, we commissioned a major economic hub in this corridor. Over the past seven years, you have demonstrated commitment, vision and patriotism in advancing Nigeria’s growth.

“We celebrate you today for your contributions to national development. I have no regrets and I congratulate the people of this great state for their steadfast support of the government,” he said.

Earlier, Governor Abiodun disclosed that all the legacy projects executed by his administration since inception of office were borne out of shared commitment to the overall infrastructural development of Nigeria.

He said his administration would continue to partner the federal government toward driving national development.
