A Nigerian activist, Chief (Mrs) Osasu Igbinedion Ogwuche, has been named one of Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People for 2025 by Ranks Africa. The list recognises individuals driving change in governance, development, and citizen participation across the continent.
Ogwuche gained attention for her leadership on the Reserved Seats for Women Bill, a proposal aimed at increasing women’s representation in federal and state legislatures. She led a national coalition, bringing lawmakers, traditional rulers, and religious leaders into the discussion.
She also heads the Shift the Needle Campaign, helping state First Ladies advocate for funding in family planning and reproductive health. The campaign links these initiatives to maternal health, girls’ education, and economic growth.
