The V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University Ukraine has awarded a certificate of merit to a Nigerian, Dr Cliff Ogbede in recognition of his contributions to the development of educational, scientific, cultural and social cooperation between the university and Nigeria.
The development was contained in a statement signed by the university rector, Prof Tetyana Kaganovska who conveyed the gratitude of the staff of Karazin to him for demonstrating high professional, moral and human qualities and for the extensive information support of the university within the international arena, especially in these hard times the Ukrainians are forced to fight to protect their sovereignty and democratic values.
The rector applauded Ogbede who served as official representative of the university in Nigeria for his leadership and commitment to the Ukrainian spirit and promotion of bilateral relations.
The university called for more efforts in developing and deepening Nigeria-Ukraine bilateral cooperation and the friendly relations, for the well-being of Nigeria and Ukraine.
In his remarks Dr Ogbede stated that Karazin university has shown strong commitment towards the growth of Nigeria and will continue to offer several programmes that will help to prepare the Nigerian students and major work force for the new global challenges, including knowledge sharing, research and development, academic cooperation with Nigerian institutions and cultural exchange programmes between Nigeria and Ukraine.
V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University which was established in 1804, is one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe, known for academic hub of Ukraine and rated amongst the best Ukrainian classical universities and has produced three Nobel Laureates in Medicine, Economics and Physics.
