Ade Yesufu, Exhibition Director, Energy Portfolio at inD, has said Nigeria’s energy transition will remain incomplete until households and businesses have access to reliable, affordable and accessible electricity.
Yesufu made the statement ahead of the 13th edition of Nigeria Energy 2026, where stakeholders will examine the country’s energy reforms, grid reliability, power sector investment and practical solutions to persistent electricity supply challenges.
“Nigeria’s electricity challenge is no longer just about investment, policy reforms or installed capacity; it is about delivering reliable, affordable and accessible power to the people and businesses that need it most. Until electricity is consistently available to the average Nigerian household and businesses can operate without the crippling cost of alternative power, our energy transition remains incomplete,” he said.
The event will bring together government officials, regulators, investors, technology providers, energy sector analysts and other stakeholders to assess progress in Nigeria’s energy transition and identify measures to improve electricity delivery.
The 2026 edition is expected to attract more than 1,500 conference delegates and feature over 40 sessions and more than 120 speakers. Discussions will focus on grid performance, investment, generation reliability and Nigeria’s growing electricity needs.
Despite significant installed generation capacity, Nigeria continues to face challenges relating to transmission infrastructure, gas availability and electricity supply. The discussions are expected to focus on moving beyond policy reforms to measurable improvements in power delivery.
The Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit will examine investment, grid performance, electricity market reforms and gas-to-power reliability. It will also feature a debate on whether Nigeria’s electricity market is ready to scale up to 10,000 megawatts.
The Technical Excellence Forum will focus on practical approaches to improving energy infrastructure, including grid cybersecurity, artificial intelligence-powered fault detection, energy efficiency and electric vehicle charging.
The platform will also provide opportunities for energy startups to pitch their ideas to investors and industry leaders, while women in operational and investment leadership will have opportunities to advance more inclusive investment models in the power sector.
Alongside the conferences, the exhibition will connect energy professionals with suppliers, including Sun King, Allied Talent Partners and Eauxwell, giving visitors opportunities to explore products and services and discuss their business requirements.
The programme will feature senior figures, including Joseph Tegbe, Minister of Power; Ademola Ogunbanjo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oando Energy Resources; Dr Chinyere Almona, Director-General of the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Dapo Adesina, President of the Electric Mobility Promoters Association of Nigeria.
