the northern parts of Nigeria.”

The agency further noted that the
thick dust haze with horizontal visibility of less than or equal to 1000m is expected to affect parts of Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe and Borno States and warned that the airlines and the public should take necessary precautions.

NiMet also urged people with asthmatic health condition and other respiratory issues to be cautious of the
present weather condition; while noting that “Airline operators are advised to get airport-specific weather reports (flight documentation) from
NiMet for effective planning in their operations.”
