NLC To Unveil FG’s CNG Buses For South West States Jan 10

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Oyo State Council, in collaboration with the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the union has concluded plans to launch the South West Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses given to them by the federal government on Friday.

The chairman, Oyo NLC, Comrade Kayode Martins who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen at the union’s secretariat in Ibadan disclosed that the CNG buses would be brought to Ibadan for distribution to other states.

He said the unveiling would take place on Friday, January 10 at the union’s secretariat, Agodi GRA, Ibadan at 11am with Governor Seyi Makinde as the host.

Martins revealed that labour leaders, political officeholders, government functionaries and residents of the state are expected to be at the occasion.

The chairman noted that the CNG buses would enhance transportation in the state, saying, “This development is expected to improve the transportation system in Oyo State.

“CWC comprises all the presidents and secretaries of all the 58 affiliates of NLC. This collaboration is a significant step towards improving the lives of workers and residents in Oyo State.

“The launch of the CNG buses in Oyo State is a significant development that promises to improve transportation in the state. With the support of the federal government and the state government, the NLC is poised to make a positive impact on the lives of workers and residents in Oyo State.

“The federal government’s donation of CNG buses to the NLC is a significant gesture, with a total of 64 buses donated to the union and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).”
