The Nigeria National League (NNL) has expressed strong condemnation and launched a full investigation following “unacceptable” incidents during the match between Gombe United FC and Jigawa Golden Stars on Saturday, 21st December 2025.
Danlami Alanana, Chief Operating Officer of the NNL, conveyed the league’s profound displeasure regarding reports from the encounter, which took place at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe. Mr. Alanana described the situation as “contrary to the values and regulations of the league.”
The NNL has committed to a thorough investigation into the match and all related occurrences. Mr. Alanana affirmed that the league is prepared to enact “necessary and appropriate decisions” in strict adherence to its established rules and disciplinary protocols.
Reaffirming its dedication to fair play, safety, and professionalism, the NNL issued a stern warning that “any acts capable of undermining the integrity of the competition would not be tolerated.”
