National leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has commiserated with the government and people of Borno State over the recent flood in Maiduguri, the state capital, and its environs.
In a statement by the national publicity secretary, Ladipo Johnson, the party noted the extent of destruction and displacement caused by the flood and expressed sympathy with the victims.

The statement quoted the NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed as saying that the flood caused monumental havoc that would be felt for a long time and requires concerted efforts for the recovery.

To this end, the party chairman called on public spirited individuals, agencies and corporate bodies to donate generously towards ameliorating the effects.
