Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has moved to quash speculation surrounding the future of star striker Victor Osimhen, confirming there is no release clause in the Nigerian’s contract and insisting he will remain at the Turkish club for years to come.

Ozbek’s strong statement serves as a clear message to a host of European clubs reportedly circling the Super Eagles forward, whose performances in Istanbul have reignited interest from across the continent.

In an interview with Turkish outlet Haberler, Ozbek lavished praise on the 27-year-old, comparing him to a club legend. “Osimhen is the player that excites me the most after Metin Oktay among the strikers who have ever come to Galatasaray,” he said.

The president also highlighted Osimhen’s professionalism, noting his intense commitment in training. “Sometimes we fear he might get injured, but he is a very good professional and takes great care of himself.”

When asked directly about a potential exit, Ozbek was unequivocal. “There is no exit clause in Osimhen’s contract. He is an extremely successful player who will serve Galatasaray for many years.”

He added that the €75 million permanent deal, which followed an initial loan, is now viewed as a bargain given the striker’s impact. “When he was transferred, it was discussed that the transfer fee was high, but today it is believed that the money given is low and that the player’s value is much higher.”

Osimhen has more than justified the fee, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists in 25 appearances this season. His seven goals in the Champions League have been instrumental in Galatasaray reaching the Round of 16 for the first time in 12 years, where they are set to face Liverpool.

The president’s comments follow fresh reports from France linking Osimhen with Bayern Munich, who are reportedly eyeing him as a long-term successor to Harry Kane.

Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Juventus have also been credited with an interest in the former Napoli striker.
