The Arewa Youth Assembly has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, lauding his transformative achievements and dismissing attempts to tarnish his reputation.

In a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the group’s speaker, Mohammed Salihu Danlami, praised Kyari’s exceptional leadership, emphasizing that no smear campaign could overshadow his dedication to the nation and humanity.

The group highlighted that under Kyari’s leadership, the NNPCL exceeded its projected revenue target of N12.3 trillion for 2024 by generating N13.1 trillion, an impressive N800 billion surplus.

He said this success, coupled with a promising projection to remit N23.7 trillion into the federation account for 2025, underscores his commitment to driving Nigeria’s economic growth.

Additionally, he said crude oil production has surged significantly, rising from 1.43 million barrels per day (mbpd) to 1.8 mbpd, with an ambitious target of 2 mbpd by December. Gas production has also increased to 7.4 billion standard cubic feet (bscf) per day, demonstrating Kyari’s efforts to enhance energy output.

The Arewa Youth Assembly commended Kyari for his role in reviving Nigeria’s refineries, notably the Port Harcourt refinery, which has resumed operations with the first truckload of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) dispatched under his supervision. The Kaduna and Warri refineries are also set to resume operations soon, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector.

Describing Kyari as a “phenomenon in leadership,” the group applauded his intelligence, charisma, and vision, which have earned him nationwide admiration and respect.

They attributed the stability and sustainability of Nigeria’s economy to his exceptional management of the oil and gas sector, a critical driver of national development.

He urged Nigerians to recognize Kyari’s remarkable contributions and disregard any campaigns aimed at discrediting his achievements.

“Against all odds, the stability and sustainability of Nigeria’s economy depends in large measure on the preservation of the country’s economic mainstay, which is perfectly led, protected, and steered to greater heights by the GCEO of the NNPCL, Mele Kolo Kyari,” he said.

The group called on citizens to support Kyari’s vision, expressing confidence that his leadership will continue to propel Nigeria toward greater economic prosperity.
