The Northern Elders Political Development Group (NEPDG) has cautioned politicians and other stakeholders in the northwest zone against making provocative comments on social media platforms and conventional media on persons holding political offices.

The call was made yesterday by the national coordinator of the group, Malam Yusuf Abubakar, at a news conference after their 10th meeting held in Birnin Kebbi.

He lamented that those making provocative comments about high profile individuals in the government were unpatriotic.

Abubakar said the forum was angry about the attitude of two politicians in Zamfara State, Senator Kabiru Marafa and Abdullahi Shinkafi for always condemning the efforts of the minister of state for defence, Bello Matawalle.

The group, however, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi and Matawalle for their efforts in setting free the abducted students of Maga Secondary School without any loss of life.
