They made the resolution yesterday when they paid a courtesy visit to Gombe State governor Inuwa Yahaya before the commencement of the quarterly meeting of the forum held in Gombe State.
Gombe State first lady and chairperson of the forum, Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya said the governors’ wives were in Gombe for their quarterly meeting in their efforts to complement their husbands in promoting socio-economic development in their respective states and the region.

She said their engagement in the state would focus on drug abuse that had become prevalent among youths in the region.

Mrs Yahaya added that the forum would also give priority to women empowerment and the menace of out-of school-children which impedes the development of the region.

Responding, Governor Inuwa Yahaya who doubles as the chairman Northern Governors Forum lauded the wives of governors for their initiatives saying there was a need for intensified efforts in education, healthcare, and human capital development through entrepreneurship and skill acquisition.
