Management staff and players of Kwara United Football Club have paid a visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Alh Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, seeking the monarch’s blessings ahead of the first home match of the season, and the season.

While receiving the team, the Emir, who admonished players and staffers of the club to be of good conduct, and be dutiful in order to make Kwarans happy, charged the players on discipline.

The Emir prayed for a successful season and advised the team to target and work towards securing a continental ticket, even as he prayed that the players would all end up playing in Europe. He charged them to serve the team with their heart.

The Emir of Ilorin, a former player himself, and former Board member of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), now Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is the Grand Patron of Kwara United Football Club, Ilorin.

The visit was a continuation of the annual pre-season visit to the chairman of Kwara State Traditional Council, to seek royal blessings ahead of commencement of the NPFL.
