Sporting Lagos head coach, Paul Offor, has expressed worries over his side’s hectic match fixtures after beating Niger Tornadoes 2-1 on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena to record their second victory in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The team will travel to Ilorin on Wednesday to face Kwara United before hosting Kano Pillars on Sunday in Lagos. And the gaffer insists the congested fixtures are not good for his team considering their injury crisis.
Offor, who spoke at the post-match interview, said: “This is a victory that we needed so much to be able to climb up the table after three previous matches without a victory. We needed this, and we are grateful that we got it.”
“We are worried about fixture congestion. At the moment, this is not a good time for us in terms of the injury we have at the back line. We have had four of our players subbed due to injury in the first half of the match, and hopefully we will have two players fit for the match this week. ”
I believe we have enough players in the squad to be able to manage the situation, and we will work on it.”
