First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Limited has offered its support to the gold and minerals value chain; hence, it has decided to be a major sponsor of the upcoming Gold and Gemstone Conference & Exhibition (GGCE) 2025.

The exhibition is slated for November 24 to 28, 2025, in Lagos. The organisers said, FirstBank’s sponsorship underscores its strategic support for initiatives that drive empowerment, community growth, and opportunities within the precious minerals value chain.

FirstBank opts for sponsorships that amplify brand visibility and create value across critical sectors like mining, trade, and community development.

Legacy of Support, the organisers added that the bank has previously sponsored initiatives toward women in mining, notably backing Edo Women in Mining at the 2024 Gold & Gemstone Conference to promote gender inclusivity and empowerment.

The organisers said that FirstBank continues to reinforce its role as a catalyst for sustainable economic prosperity in Nigeria and across Africa through partnerships in spheres such as finance, cultural events, and trade exhibitions.

“We are honoured to welcome FirstBank as a major sponsor of GGCE 2025. Their commitment to financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, and strategic industry engagement perfectly complements our mission of unlocking sustainable value in Nigeria’s gold and gemstone sector,” said the president of Women in Mining in Nigeria, Engr Janet Adeyemi, on behalf of the organising committee and the GGCE team.

Similarly, FirstBank’s acting group head of marketing and Corporate Communications, Olayinka Ijabiyi, said: “Our support for GGCE 2025 reflects FirstBank’s dedication to supporting initiatives that elevate communities, empower stakeholders—especially women—and drive inclusive growth across Nigeria’s resource economy. We aim to ensure that the benefits of progress are equitably distributed, thereby contributing to a more sustainable and prosperous future for all Nigerians.”
