The director general of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Bukola Olopade, has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to Chief Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Public Communication and Orientation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the occasion of his 59th birthday.
Olopade, in a message released on Thursday’s morning, described Dare, who was the Minister of Youth and Sports Development from 2019 to 2023, as an astute, competent, hardworking, and charismatic trailblazer.
Olopade’s message read: “I would like to wish the Special Adviser for Media and Public Communications to Mr. President, Chief Sunday Dare, a heartfelt happy birthday on this special day. His astute, competent, hardworking, and charismatic nature are just some of the attributes that define him as he marks another year.
“As the former Minister of Sports, I recall how he pioneered many of the enabling policies that we are currently implementing as part of our Renewed Hope initiative for the Nigerian sports economy. His commitment to sustainable sports development is evident in the fact that the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival is being held in Ogun State, with today marking the closing ceremony of the Games coinciding perfectly with his birthday.
“I advocated for Ogun State to host the Sports Festival, and Chief Sunday Dare, then the Sports Minister, firmly supported our bid, awarding us the hosting rights. It is fitting that the Games are concluding on this special day celebrating his birthday.
“The people of Ogun State will forever remember the crucial role he played in placing the Gateway State on the global sporting map with this historic hosting of the Sports Festival.
“Moreover, it is worth noting that Chief Sunday Dare is a true democrat, and the celebration of his birthday today aligns with the observance of Democracy Day.
“As you mark another year, I wish you continued good health, wisdom, and prosperity.”
