With 32 student-athletes and 10 officials making up the NUGA delegation, Nigeria will proudly compete in five sporting disciplines: athletics, badminton, table tennis, judo, and taekwondo.
Speaking on the development, Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to youth and school sports.

“Our support for NUGA at the World University Games is a reflection of our belief in the power of school sports at all levels to shape future champions.”

“These young athletes carry the dreams of a nation, and we are proud to stand behind them,” Hon. Olopade stated.

This year’s Games mark another opportunity for Nigeria’s vibrant student-athletes to showcase their talent on a global stage, with the NSC providing critical financial and logistical support in partnership with the Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA).

“University sports is the bedrock of national talent development. We thank the National Sports Commission for their support in ensuring our students are not left out of this global competition. This is a vital platform to expose them to international standards and inspire excellence,” said Professor Bawa.

Team Nigeria’s delegation will settle in Germany ahead of the opening ceremony, with events scheduled across the six-day tournament.
