The suspect, identified as Abdurrashid Gambo, was apprehended by residents of the Kwado community on Sunday, August 31, 2025, after he was allegedly caught with an NSCDC uniform while being suspected of theft.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SC Buhari Hamisu, Gambo claimed to have volunteered with the Katsina Central Division of the NSCDC about six years ago and was a Kofar Durbi/Mallam Niga community resident.

However, investigations revealed that he had never enlisted as a volunteer in the Corps.
The NSCDC commended members of the Kwado community for their vigilance and swift action in apprehending the suspect.

“The command maintains high levels of credibility, discipline and professionalism as its watchwords,” SC Hamisu emphasised.
