In the concluding events at the MKO Abiola Sports Centre in Abeokuta on Friday, Team Delta emerged victorious in the 22nd edition of the NSF, dominating the competition with an impressive tally of 126 gold, 100 silver, and 111 bronze medals, thereby securing the top position on the medal table over the two-week festival.

Ogun State, the event’s host, finished in second place, earning 93 gold, 65 silver, and 80 bronze medals. Team Bayelsa followed closely in third, with a total of 92 gold, 65 silver, and 71 bronze medals. The top ten medal standings were completed by Rivers, Edo, Lagos, Oyo, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Osun, and Akwa Ibom States.

Seyi Oyefeso, Executive Director of Retail Banking at First Bank, emphasised the importance of engaging young people in regular sporting activities, including the South West Games and the NSF, through the bank’s first@sports initiative.

“At First Bank, we recognise the crucial role of keeping the youth engaged in positive pursuits like sports. That is why we are committed to supporting their development through our first@sports initiative,” Oyefeso stated.
