The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), in collaboration with the Yobe State government, has commenced a series of capacity-building workshops aimed at strengthening teaching standards and school leadership across the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the chief information officer, office of the Head of Service Alhassan Sule Mamudo and made available to the newsmen in Damaturu.

According to the statement, the training programmes, organised in partnership with the Office of the Head of Service, are being held at the NTI Headquarters in Kaduna from April 8 to April 24, 2026.

The training focused on improving administrative leadership, promoting learner-centred teaching methodologies, and enhancing school leadership through structured coaching and mentoring.

Declaring the programme open, the Director and Chief Executive of NTI, Professor Sadiya Sani Daura, represented by Dr Magaji, underscored the importance of effective leadership, innovative teaching practices, and continuous professional development in achieving improved learning outcomes.

She noted that the training modules were carefully tailored to respond to emerging challenges in educational management and classroom delivery.

Speaking on the significance of the programme, the Yobe State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, described the training as part of a broader strategy of the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni to reposition the education sector for greater heights.
