The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Borno State Council, has extended condolences to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum over the death of his Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy, Mallam Isa Umar Gusau.
A statement signed and issued by the Secretary of the NUJ in Borno, Alhaji Chiroma Ibrahim which was made available to journalists on Friday in Maiduguri, said the chairman of the council, Comrade Dauda Iliya, along with all working journalists in the state, commiserated with the governor, the State Executive Council and all affected by the loss.

The statement noted that the late Mallam Isa Umar Gusau was an active member of the NUJ Borno State council until his death, and made significant contributions to the progress and development of the council.

“His support and generosity will undoubtedly be missed by all members of the union.
The union was shocked to receive the sad news of the passing of the official spokesman for the state’s chief executive and extends its heartfelt sympathies to his family and to all members of the media industry, where the deceased spent the greater part of his life informing the public.

“We pray that Allah grants the bereaved family, as well as all colleagues within the journalism profession, the strength and courage to bear this irreplaceable loss and admits the deceased into Aljannatul Firdaus,” the statement said.
