National Association of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Katsina State has faulted the tripartite funding of primary education in the state and called for its review of the system to allow the councils have funds for capital projects.

The union said local government funds have been diverted and unconstitutionally spent at the detriment of councils.

NULGE president, Comrade Nasiru Wada, who disclosed the position of the union, appealed to the incoming administration of Umar Dikko Radda to review the tripartite funding of primary education which he said the local governments pay 100 per cent.

He thanked Governor Aminu Bello Masari for approving the implementation of the 2006 scheme of service for the local government workers, stressing that the governor had indeed solved the 18-year-long problem which denied workers the opportunity to attain level 16 no matter their qualifications.
