Tension has gripped Umuadara community in Umulogho, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, following the killing of a female nursing student, identified as Wendy Achumba, reportedly found beheaded in her apartment.

The victim, an indigene of Ngwa in Abia State, was a student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho, where she had completed her Midwifery programme and was undertaking Post Basic studies.

She was said to have been discovered dead on Thursday in her residence in Umuadara, with her body bearing signs of brutal violence.

Residents who found the body raised the alarm, attracting youths and other members of the community to the scene.

Eyewitnesses described the incident as shocking, noting that the deceased was calm, peaceful and focused on her studies.

“She was a calm person and focused on her studies. Nobody expected something like this to happen,” a resident who requested anonymity said.
