The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ebonyi State Chapter has called for investigations into the gruesome murder of a 13-year-old boy, Fabian Ugo of Ndioke Nduebor Okpuitumo who was allegedly murdered by the operatives of Operation Udo Ga Achi in Anambra State.
NYCN’s Director, Media and Publicity, Comrade Stephen Maduabuchi Nkoka in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP maintained that a diligent investigation and review must be carried on the operations of Udo Ga Achi security outfit in Anambra State.
“We demand justice for the murdered youth. Our organisation will not continue to fold its hands while youths of Ebonyi State are gruesomely murdered by the operatives in Anambra State.
“As the National Council of Nigeria Youths (NYCN), we condemned in its entirety, this horrific and barbaric acts and therefore demand that an arrest and due public prosecution of the personnel(s) involved in the act be carried out with immediate effect.
“That an adequate burial rite and condolences to the bereaved family and our state at large be accorded the needed respect,” Nkoka said.
The group also appealed to the youths in Ebonyi to avoid any revolt that could escalate into violence. “We are calling on the aggrieved youths never to result to self-defense, believing that the authorities in charge will do the needful.”
