The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has praised corps members across Nigeria for their patriotism, discipline, and perseverance during their service year.
The director-general of NYSC, Brigadier-general Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed made this commendation yesterday at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II orientation course in Wailo, Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi State.
Represented by the Bauchi State NYSC coordinator, Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, Dogara expressed appreciation for the corps members’ patience and maturity throughout the three-week orientation exercise.
He noted that their display of discipline and tolerance convinced him that their time in camp had been worthwhile and would positively impact their host communities during their service year.
“As you move into the next phase of your service, I encourage you to remain obedient, loyal, and diligent.”
“Quickly settle into your primary assignments, respect the customs and traditions of your host communities, and contribute meaningfully through community development projects,” DG added.
Brigadier-general Ahmed also acknowledged the Bauchi State Government’s continuous support for the NYSC and urged corps members to give back by actively contributing to the progress of their host communities.
He further appreciated the various agencies that collaborated in running the camp and the Wailo community for their hospitality.
“Their support in providing needed labour has eased much of the burden on corps members and officials,” he stated.
As corps members are posted to their places of assignment, the NYSC leadership remains confident that they will leave a lasting positive impact on the communities they serve.
