Obaseki To Host Security Summit

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki will today, host a security summit and officially commission the Edo State Command and Control Centre (EC3).

In a statement, the commissioner for public safety and security, Kingsley Uwagbale said the summit themed, “Edo State Security Framework: Repositioning for the Future,” aims to showcase achievements and outline the future security landscape for Edo State.

He said, “This is to inform members of the general public that the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki will be hosting the Edo Security Summit on Thursday, December 7, 2023. As part of the summit, Obaseki will also perform the official commissioning of the Edo State Command and Control Centre (EC3).”

Uwagbale noted that the summit will showcase achievements, outline the future security landscape for Edo State, evaluate potential risks, redefine flashpoints, and establish a five-year forecast with strategies to address emerging challenges.”

He added, “The participation, insight, and expertise of all invited stakeholders are crucial to the success of the summit as it will contribute to the discourse on consolidating and improving on the achievements of the Governor Obaseki-led administration in security in Edo State.”
