Obiano’s Wife, Oduah, Ekwunife, Uba , Okelekwe Pick Senate Tickets

Wife of immediate past Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, Eberechukwu Obiano has won the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket for Anambra North senatorial district ahead of 2023 general election.

She scored a total of 152 votes to defeat her husband’s chief of staff, Mr Primus Odili who polled 120 votes at APGA’s Anambra North senatorial primary election held yesterday at Ikpeazu Sports Stadium, Onitsha.

Earlier, former aviation minister and incumbent representative of Anambra North senatorial district, Senator Stella Oduah had emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the senatorial district.

Similarly, Senator Uche Ekwunife emerged PDP candidate for Anambra Central while Chief Chris Uba won the PDP ticket for Anambra South senatorial district.

Also, a former, PDP governorship candidate, Chief Kodilichukwu Okelekwe emerged unopposed through affirmation by the All Progressives Congress (APC) members as the party’s candidate in Anambra Central senatorial district while a former aspirant for the ticket of APGA in the last governorship poll in Anambra State, Chief Chukwuma Umeoji won the APC ticket for Anambra South senatorial district.

The incumbent member representing Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia federal constituency, Dozie Nwankwo defeated former national chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, and emerged candidate of APGA for Anambra Central senatorial district.
