The State Working Committee (SWC) of the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has placed the Senator representing the Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin, on an indefinite suspension over alleged anti-party activities.

A statement issued yesterday by the party’s director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, the party said the decision to suspend Daniel and Folarin was reached at the APC’s meeting on August 19, 2025, chaired by the state chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi.

Nuberu said the meeting, which had 16 members in attendance, considered the reports of the Disciplinary Committees from the party’s Sagamu Wards 4 and 6. These committees investigated allegations of misconduct and anti-party activities against Daniel and Folarin, respectively, and consequently upheld them.

Daniel and Folarin were said to have failed to appear before the committees to defend themselves over the allegations, which compelled the two committees to arrive at their decisions.

Nuberu said the suspension followed due process and emphasised APC’s commitment to upholding discipline and procedures.

He, however, added that the suspension is pending further review and outcomes of the ongoing internal processes.

Meanwhile, Steve Oliyide, Daniel’s media aide, has said the lawmaker has not been notified of his purported suspension by the party.

Oliyide reportedly told Channels Television that no letter had been sent to the senator informing him about his alleged offences and subsequent suspension.
