The Police Command in Ogun has solicited stronger collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to fight against drug abuse and trafficking in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ogun, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi made the disclosure in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Abeokuta.

Babaseyi quoted the state Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has making the appeal during a familiarisation visit to the NDLEA Command in Abeokuta.

“The CP and the Ogun NDLEA Commander, Tijani Rabe, explored avenues of sustained synergy and collaboration in combating drug abuse and trafficking.

“Emphasis was on intelligence sharing, joint operations and coordinated public sensitisation,” he said.

“This signifies his role as an advocate in promoting a drug-free society.

“The CP appreciated the NDLEA for the honour and reaffirmed the police command’s resolve to strengthen inter-agency cooperation.

“This is in addressing the challenges of substance abuse and its attendant crimes,” he said.
