In celebration of Rotary International’s Membership and New Club Development Month, four Rotary Clubs in District 9111 comprising those in Ota, Alakuko, Ijoko Premier, and Iju Springs in Ogun State, have joined forces to host a transformative membership seminar.
The move was targeted at strengthening Rotary’s impact through strategic membership engagement.
Held at Maridon Hotel, Ota, the seminar brought together Rotarians from the four clubs to explore strategies for growing membership, attracting new prospects, and retaining existing members through meaningful experiences.
The event featured two distinguished speakers -District Governor Nominee (DGN) Samuel Ayetutu, who delivered a presentation titled: “From Interest to Induction: Turning Prospects into Committed Members”, where he emphasised the importance of nurturing interest and guiding potential members through a purposeful Rotary journey.
For his part, Assistant Governor Akinbobola Adedayo who spoke on the topic, “Retain to Sustain: Building Meaningful Member Experiences”, highlighted the critical role of engagement and value creation in sustaining club membership.
The seminar was presided over by Rotarian Charles Umukoro, President, Rotary Club of Ota; Rotarian Oludare Oyegbola, President, Rotary Club of Alakuko; Rotarian Olayide Ogundele, President, Rotary Club of Ijoko Premier and Rotarian Abiodun Ademefun, President, Rotary Club of Iju Springs.
The well-attended event had members of the four clubs in attendance for fostering camaraderie, shared learning, and renewed commitment to Rotary’s mission.
This initiative was a testament to the collaboration within Rotary clubs and sets a precedent for future inter-club engagements aimed at strengthening the Rotary movement in Nigeria as one of the key focus of the present leadership of District 9111 led by DG Prince Henry Akinyele.
