The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS), National Body, has congratulated Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, a son of Isaara in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State, for graduating as the Best Graduating Student of Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2025/2026 academic session with an outstanding 4.97/5.00 cumulative grade point average.
NAOSS, in a statement signed by its National President, Ààrẹ Oluwafemi Àjàyí, described Adebanjo’s achievement as an exceptional academic feat, noting that his CGPA is reportedly the third-highest ever recorded in the history of LASU since its establishment.
The association also said the result represents the highest CGPA recorded in both the Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Aerospace Engineering.
The association also said Adebanjo’s accomplishment was particularly remarkable given the rigorous demands of Aerospace Engineering, adding that his performance had demonstrated the intellectual capacity of Nigerian students to compete with the best anywhere in the world.
According to NAOSS, “This is an achievement of global worth and international significance, particularly considering the rigorous demands of Aerospace Engineering.”
The association said the graduate’s feat went beyond personal success, describing it as “a powerful statement about the quality, potential and future of Nigerian youth”.
It added that Adebanjo’s accomplishment had given Ogun State another reason to celebrate its culture of excellence and long-standing tradition of producing exceptional minds across different fields.
NAOSS National called on the Ogun State Government, Federal Government, private sector and other relevant institutions to recognise the achievement and support Adebanjo in developing his potential through scholarships, employment opportunities, research funding, mentorship and other forms of assistance.
The association said such support would enable the young scholar to translate his academic excellence into meaningful contributions and global impact.
“Ogun, the Gateway State, has continually served as a gateway to success, producing outstanding Nigerians across generations. Adebanjo is another shining evidence of what the Gateway can produce when talent meets opportunity,” the statement said.
The association further urged Ogun State students across the country to draw inspiration from Adebanjo’s discipline, brilliance and commitment to excellence.
It said the leadership of NAOSS under Ààrẹ Oluwafemi Àjàyí would continue to celebrate and amplify the achievements of exceptional Ogun State students who distinguish themselves in their various institutions and fields of endeavour.
NAOSS National also urged stakeholders to celebrate Adebanjo’s achievement not only with words but by creating opportunities that would match the significance of his academic performance.
“Adebanjo has raised the bar; the Gateway has produced another global-worthy star,” the association said.
