The Okanlomo Oodua, Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has clamoured for unity and mutual respect among the Yoruba people.
The Ibadan, Oyo State-born philanthropist and chief executive of Ilaji Resorts stated this against the planned installation of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade.
Reacting to the similarities drawn by observers on the title recently bestowed on him by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Okanlomo Oodua stated that he was not given to controversies.
“I am not driven by controversies, title debates, or competing narratives. My focus as Okanlomo Odùduwà remains steadfast: the preservation and promotion of Yorùbá culture, the unity of our people, and the pursuit of lasting socio-economic impact across generations and borders.
“True leadership is purposeful. It is rooted in the Omoluabi ethos, dialogue over discord, impact over noise, and legacy over momentary relevance.
“Our greatness as a people has always come from unity, mutual respect among our revered traditional institutions, and collaboration for the common good,” Sanusi stated.
He further expressed his commitment to cultural diplomacy, youth empowerment, diaspora reconnection, as well as economic and educational advancement of Yorùbáland.
“I will continue to work with all well-meaning stakeholders, beyond titles or personal distinctions, for the collective progress of our people.
“This is a time for calm reflection, cultural responsibility, and unity, not contention,” Sanusi stated.
