A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr Henry Nnanna Okeke, has emphasised the importance of transparency, internal democracy, and collective commitment to the growth of the party in Enugu State.
Okeke stated this while speaking with journalists in Abuja after participating in the APC State Congress held at Okpara Square in Enugu.
He said the congress produced a new State Executive Committee through what he described as a democratically conducted unanimous affirmation vote by delegates.
“I had the honour of participating in the APC State Congress held at the historic Okpara Square in Enugu, where the new executive was elected through a unanimous affirmation vote by the State Congress delegates,” he said.
Okeke described the event as a resounding success, noting that it reflected the leadership and unifying influence of the leader of the party in the state, Governor Peter Mbah.
According to him, the exercise demonstrated unity within the party and confidence in its leadership in the state.
He congratulated the newly elected party officials led by Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, whom he described as the quintessential Ozoigbondu.
Quoting the new party chairman, Okeke said: “Loyalty has no percentage; it is either loyalty or nothing.”
He added that he was pleased to have participated actively in the party congresses at the ward, local government, and state levels.
“I am truly delighted to have actively participated in the ward, LGA, and state congresses, and I thank God that tomorrow is here and the new Enugu is now,” he said..
