Governor Monday Okpebholo has lauded Skyewise Group for boosting the economic drive and confidence of investors by investing in Edo State.
Okpeholo spoke at the pre-launch of the Skyewise Group Tower in Benin City.
The governor, represented by his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, said he had been able to tackle cultism and other violent crimes in the state, adding that insecurity affects economic progress as no investor would invest in a place that is not safe.
“The governor has asked me to represent him. And he has asked me to tell you a few things. First, to assure you that your investment in Edo is safe and secured.
“Second, his excellency, the executive governor when we came into office, Edo was faced with a lot of insecurity but as we speak, it has been reduced to the barest minimum. Issue of cultism is being completely destroyed. Same time last year, you hear them counting scores like chicken.
“But today, all those are things of the past, courtesy of senator Monday Okpebholo. For business to strive in any society, any state, any community, security must be addressed. And as we speak today by the grace of God, everything about security is the first priority of the executive governor of the state.
“And secondly, I want to assure you that the government of Edo state will also patronize to ensure that your business meet the highest desire from Edo and not only from the citizens but from the government.
And lastly, we are going to be praying for you because we are almost at the same age.”
On his part, the chief executive officer of Skyewise multi-billion naira conglomerate, Dr. Elvis Abuyere said the demolition of the business premises in Lagos and Abuja compelled them to relocate to Edo State which provided a more friendly environment for their businesses to strive.
The Edo born entrepreneur whose chain of businesses ranges from sales of luxury automobile, loan facility, and hospitality disclosed this in Benin City at the official unveiling of Skyewise Group Tower and Launch.
He lauded the Edo State Governor Monday Okpeholo for boosting investors confidence towards driving economic growth in the state.
He said, “For those who have known us for over a decade, we are known for excellence, we are known for impact, and we are known for results but unfortunately, while we are trying to round up the 2025 despite the many issues that we actually have encountered this year.
“For those who have been following us lately, you will realize that we have some challenges in Lagos. One of our premises in Lagos was demolished and also we also have in Abuja that was demolished.”
