Hon. Frank Ilaboya, Chief Executive Officer of Sportsville Communications, has lauded the remarkable impact of the annual Okpekpe International 10km Road Race on both the local community of Okpekpe in Edo State and Nigeria at large, pledging his organisation’s unwavering support for the upcoming 11th edition of Nigeria’s sole World Athletics Gold Label Road Race.

Having attended every single edition since its inception, Mr. Ilaboya expressed immense pride in the race’s transformative influence. “I have attended all the editions of the race since its inception and I must say I am very proud of the impact the Okpekpe Race has made within the immediate community of Okpekpe, Edo State, and the country as a whole,” he stated.

He highlighted how the race has elevated the global profile of Okpekpe, once a quiet village. “Today, the once sleepy village of Okpekpe has gained global recognition courtesy of this race. One must commend the initiator, Mike Itemuagbor, for this great vision and consistency over the years.”

Mr. Ilaboya further praised the Okpekpe Race as a paragon of excellence in sports organisation, with its coveted Gold Label status underscoring its international calibre and unique standing. “One must commend the consistency and dedication that has gone into organizing this great event. Being the only Gold Label race in Nigeria tells you everything about its uniqueness and quality,” he added.
