Olopade, Gusau, Ikpeba Lead Football Elite To Lagos For NNL Super 4 Draw

The Nigeria National League (NNL) is rolling out the red carpet in Lagos, and the country’s football elite are answering the call.

The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, alongside the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, will headline proceedings at the NNL Super Four draw. The influential duo will be joined by a distinguished cast of former Super Eagles stars, including ‘Prince of Monaco’ Victor Ikpeba, with several other prominent figures from across the football landscape expected to attend.

For many observers, their presence signals a clear shift: the NNL is no longer a feeder league operating quietly in the background. Through deliberate branding, improved organisation, and increasing commercial appeal, Nigeria’s second-tier league is asserting itself as a vital pillar of the domestic game.

Much of this transformation is credited to Toptier Sports Management. The private investors have injected renewed energy and financial backing into the league, elevating operational standards and providing clubs with a platform that mirrors top-flight professionalism in all but name.

The draw will determine the route to glory for the four newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) sides: Doma United, Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos, and Ranchers Bees. Notably, this marks the first time all four promoted clubs are privately owned—a significant milestone that reflects the evolving structure of Nigerian club football.
